Our Story Begins with ALS

Providing professional and compassionate care for clients battling ALS is paramount to Compass Homecare’s story. Company founders, Sheldon and Beth Crystal experienced the impacts of this disease firsthand when Beth’s mother (Sheldon’s mother-in-law) was diagnosed with ALS. Following her diagnosis, her one wish was to remain at home, surrounded by her family, friends, and cherished memories. It was through this process that Sheldon and Beth learned the complexities and rapidly changing conditions of this disease, and found an intrinsic desire to help others facing similar situations to their own. With a deep understanding of ALS, their goal is to lead others to the place where they can find support, care, and comfort in the place they call home.

Occupational Therapy Services

Our occupational therapists are dedicated to maximizing your independence, teaching new strategies for task completion, and recommending home modifications that facilitate safety and ease of living. Daily exercises also play a crucial role in ALS management. Depending on the client’s case, our occupational therapists will provide exercises aimed to slow respiratory and physical decline.
